Day 1 of FSF

So, after tons of walking, many delicious treats consumed, several subway trips, an hour trek to the outlets and back and some damage done to my wallet, day one of Fatty Shopping Fest is done.  We started out with sponge cake from Kam Hang Coffee Shop and then baked dimsum pork buns from Chatham’s Square Restaurant.  I had never had the sponge cake type thing before and the baked pork buns were different from the steamed ones I had before.  Dare I say…better?  When we left we had pork dumplings from this dim sum place called Jo Shanghai…not your typical dumpling…these had soup broth in them!  They were delicious.  After leaving we stopped by this little place called Dry Beef King for wet and dry spicy beef jerky.  If you guys like jerky, this stuff is awesome.  He makes it himself in small batches.

Then, it was shopping time.  We went to the little Burberry shop and I picked up a yellow polo.  Then we went to a couple shops and looked around.  We ended up going to Rocco’s Pasty shop for cannolis.  While they were good, the cannolis from Terminis in Philly were better.  Then we went to the Woodbury Commons outlets and hit up the shops.  We looked around in a couple but I only bought stuff from Lacoste, Burberry and Polo.  The Sperry outlet only had kids stuff and no one else had any shoes that I liked.

Once we got back we went to Katz’s Deli.  Now, if you have never had a hot pastrami sandwich before, I must say, you are missing out.  This salty, juicy meaty sandwich is piled high and absolutely amazing.  They also had great sour pickles and tomatoes.  Everyone should try this if they go to NY.

We are going to Macy’s, Polo (on Madison, the BIG store), Burberry (their BIG store) tomorrow.  This is, of course, in addition to seeing Will Ferrell at Broadway in his show You’re Welcome America:  A Final Night with George W. Bush.  Also, if you ever need a hotel to stay at in Times Square…The Marriott Marquis is awesome.  I highly recommend it!

Good night, all.  Up early to hit up the awesome fitness center in the hotel and then another big day!

I’m here!

Helloooo Big Apple.  So, after our flight being delayed and then having to sit on the runway for another hour, I finally made it to NYC.  I had the craziest, but also the most awesome, shuttle driver ever.  If you need a shuttle from LaGuardia to your hotel or anywhere in Manhattan ask for AirLink shuttle and David, as the driver.  He told me lots about NYC, got me and everyone else home fast and, even though he was sarcastic and might come off as rough to some of the other riders, he was nice.  Very cool dude…so, thanks David for that intro to NYC.

My room here at the Marriott Marquis is awesome.  The TV might be larger than my 42″ flat screen at home.  This is making me want to move my 42″ into my bedroom and get a 56″ for the living room.  Haha.  The view is pretty awesome.  I am on the 44th floor and can see the corner shaped building of time square with all of those screens on it.  I have a couch and a king sized bed.  The clock radio in the room has an iPod docking station!  This shows you the market dominance Apple has on MP3 players and makes me wish I had one even more.  The bed is so soft and even the shower head is bad ass.  It has a perfect spread of water and it doesn’t come out too hard or too soft.  Just perfect.

Amy is on her way into the city now.  Then we will go out into to the city to shop, eat and sight see.  I’m stoked, are you?

RIC airport

So, I am sitting here in the RIC airport waiting for my flight to La Guardia. I’m pretty stoked about the trip. I’m excited for great food, fun shopping and being in the “Big Apple.” I’m also excited to see Amy again. This is known as FSF, Fatty Shopping Fest. We did a Fatty Fest last year in Philly and it was tons of fun.  Burberry, Polo, pastrami, dim sum and canolis are on the agenda so far.  Maybe even the SoHo outlets.   I will be sure to take plenty of pictures.

Also, this past Wednesday, I had my first guitar lesson.  I think it went pretty well, but one of the chords was tough.  I’ll get it down though.  I think the hardest part will be memorizing all the chords.  The instructor, Joe, is a pretty cool dude.  He is definitely legit.  I think I will end up driving my roommates insane though.

So, the guy just came on the speaker and said the p[lane is about 10 minutes out.  We were supposed to leave at 720 and it is currently 706.  How long does it take to ready a plan for its trip out?  Hmm.  Well, I’d rather them take their trime and have it truly be ready than rush it and not be.  Ha.  Anywho, I think I am going to pack things up.

Hollerrrrrrrrr.
